For TV production
How do TV production teams run an open casting call?
Open Casting runs the whole call from one private link. Applicants self-tape from their phone, with nothing to download. Your team marks each tape ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Then you share the ‘Yes’ list with producers and directors by link, and they add notes and their own ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Every detail is deleted on a date you set.

How it works
- 1Publish one private link for the series
- 2Applicants self-tape from their phone
- 3Your team marks each tape ‘Yes’ or ‘No’
- 4Share the ‘Yes’ list with production by link
- 5They add notes and their own ‘Yes’ or ‘No’
Every step on one private link, nothing to download.
One call for the whole series
Share one link through socials, agents, community groups and local press. Set up a role for each part or strand.

Built for volume
- Up to 1,000 applicants on one call. More by arrangement.
- Every tape named and the right way up, in one list.
- Mark each one ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ on a phone or a desktop.

Share the shortlist with production
Send the ‘Yes’ list to series producers, directors, executives or commissioners by link. They watch on their phone with no login.

Their notes and decisions, in one place
Each person on the link leaves notes and marks their own ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Where they differ from your team, the call says so. Contact details stay with you.
Under-18s and guardian consent
Anyone under 18 applies with a parent or guardian, who confirms by email. Until then, the team sees nothing. If nobody confirms, we delete it.
Questions about heritage or disability, kept apart
A role may ask about a protected characteristic only where there is a recorded requirement for the part. Those answers are held apart from the application, seen only by the people who need them, and deleted sooner.
Data deletion for your legal team
- Every call has a deletion date, by default 30 days after the production finishes.
- You and every applicant see the date.
- Download the spreadsheet and tapes first. This cannot be undone.
- You accept our agreement and data processing schedule once.

Priced per casting call
No subscription. One fee per casting call: Standard £350 for 150 applicants, Mid-Range £700 for 500, Large Productions £1,200 for 1,000. You pay when you publish. Free to set up and apply.
Common questions
How do TV production companies find contributors and cast?
Most run an open call. They share a form through social media, agents, community groups and local press. Open Casting gives that call one private link and one place for every application.
Can producers and directors see the shortlist?
Yes. Send them the ‘Yes’ list by link. They watch the tapes, leave notes and mark their own ‘Yes’ or ‘No’, with no login. They don’t see contact details.
How many applicants can one casting call take?
Up to 1,000 applicants on the Large Productions plan, and more by arrangement. Past your plan’s number, the call stays open. You can buy extra applicant space at any time.
Can we run several calls for one series?
Yes. Each casting call has its own roles, dates, link and price. Add colleagues to the calls they work on.
How is applicants’ personal data protected?
Applications are private to your team. Tapes open only through links that last minutes. A ‘Yes’ list link opens in one browser only. A parent or guardian confirms for under-18s. Everything is securely deleted on the dates set for each call.
