For Film
How do you cast a feature film from thousands of self-tapes?
Open Casting takes an open call of thousands and turns it into a shortlist. Tapes arrive named and the right way up, in one list. Your team marks each one ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ on a phone or a desktop, and the director opens the shortlist by link. One fee per call, and the price per applicant falls as the call grows.

Thousands of applicants, one list
Share one link through agents, drama schools, socials and local press. Every tape lands named, the right way up and in one list.

A shortlist before lunch
- Watch tapes one after another, on a phone or a desktop.
- Mark each one ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Filter to the ‘Yes’ list in one press.
- Add a note for the director on any tape.

The director decides by link
Send the ‘Yes’ list to the director and producers. They watch on their phone with no login, leave notes and give their own ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

The cost falls as the call grows
Standard takes 150 applicants for £350. Large Productions takes 1,000 for £1,200, which is £1.20 each. A bigger search costs less per person, not more.
Children’s roles, with guardian consent
Anyone under 18 applies with a parent or guardian, who confirms by email before the team sees anything.
Deleted on a date you set
- Every call has a deletion date, by default 30 days after the production finishes.
- You and every applicant see the date.
- Download the spreadsheet and tapes first.

Common questions
How do you run an open casting call for a feature film?
Set up a role for each part, with a scene to tape. Publish one private link and share it through agents, drama schools and social media. Applicants self-tape from their phone. Your team marks each tape ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ and sends the shortlist to the director by link.
How many self-tapes can one call take?
Up to 1,000 on the Large Productions plan, and more by arrangement. Past your plan’s number the call stays open, and you can buy extra applicant space at any time.
How does the price work for a large search?
One fee per casting call: Standard £350 for 150 applicants, Mid-Range £700 for 500, Large Productions £1,200 for 1,000. The price per applicant falls as the call grows. No subscription, and free to apply.
Can the director review tapes without an account?
Yes. The ‘Yes’ list opens by link on a phone or a desktop, with no login. The director leaves notes and marks ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Contact details stay with you.
How long can a self-tape be?
Up to 2 minutes each. A minute is usually plenty. You can set a shorter limit for each tape.
